Please stop doing this…

Every developer I’ve ever worked with has, at some point, said “anything’s possible with enough time and money.”

Stop it. Don’t say that. That’s a really weird way of saying “I don’t know my own capabilities, and I am not prepared to give an estimate.” Designers don’t say this because we know it’s true, but we’d rather solve problems creatively and give you a straight answer about it. It’s quite possible that our straight answer at first review will be “dude, I don’t know how long it’ll take, but we’ll make it work, and I’m not going to go nuts with our budget” but I feel that’s a lot more realistic and less standoffish than the former statement. Justin, Jerod, etc. if you’re reading this, don’t get offended. I know it’s logical to answer this way, it’s just so sterile that it comes off as abrasive and bullheaded. If anyone catches me saying this in the future, please call me out on it.
