The ball, I dropped it. Also, that’s Mr. Giraf to you sucka.

So as enthusiastic as I was to do the whole doodle-a-day type thing here on my blog, it didn’t last long. Same reason diets don’t work. Same reason New Year’s Resolutions are crap. I came up with better things to do.

Right now I’m filling in for an instructor on maternity leave at the college I attended. I’m stoked about the opportunity, and loving every moment of the experience. I’ve been in leadership roles before, and I’ve taught plenty of people plenty of things, but to be called back to teach at a college level only a few years after graduation is pretty sweet in my eyes.

Seeing students at a design school work from a perspective other than first person is enlightening. It’s interesting to see the same patterns of behavior, thought, procrastination and epiphany that I went through during my formative years. I hope they enjoy having me as a teacher as much as I enjoy teaching, and I’m excited to take my experience here and apply it to my next job as I climb the ranks in the creative field and continue to search for a role where I can use my God-given talent in art and design, as well as my passion for teaching, innovating and inspiring others.
